PubMed provides free access to MEDLINE, the National Library of Medicine’s (NLM) database of citations and abstracts in the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, health care systems, and preclinical sciences. PubMed is easy to use; simply enter your search topics and click Go.
 
The NLM worked with the Wellcome Trust and the U.K. Joint Information Systems Committee to digitize the complete backfiles of important and historically significant medical journals. The fulltext content is made available through PubMed Central.
