1. Please discuss how you incorporate occupation -based interventions in this setting.
To ensure occupation based interventions, open-ended questions such as "What would you like out of your time here" and "What would you like to see change" are asked during the initial evaluation.
2. Describe two issues that limit your ability to use occupation based interventions and discuss strategies that could be used to minimize these barriers.
-There is limited 1:1 tx as most sessions are group centered. To make sure all patients are receiving client centered care, goals are reviewed prior and group topics change everyday. For example, the focus one day could be communication and the focus the next day could be job skills.
-A second issue is that patients are restricted to the unit. Even though this issue can not be "minimized", a strategy is to use what is provided in the environment. For example, I worked with a patient last week on grooming/hygiene at their sink.
