Description

This webinar will provide an overview of well validated tools and surveys for screening older adults for common age-associated changes in functional ability, physical health, cognition and mental health, and socioenvironmental circumstances.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1) Select appropriate tests and measures to screen an older patient/client for common age-associated problems of function, cognition, and safety.
2) Recognize when screening results indicate a need for further assessment or referral to another healthcare professional.
3) Value of the role of the rehabilitation therapist in screening geriatric patients/clients to assist in the identification of medical conditions; development of treatment and follow-up plans; coordination of management of care; and assessment of long-term care needs and optimal placement.
