Description
Using the framework provided by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehab Facilities, this presentation will focus on the overall programmatic management of individuals with stroke. The presentation will provide a “birds-eye” view of the various components that are necessary to run a comprehensive stroke program from pre-admission through re-entry to the community. The presentation will provide specific guidelines on how to organize a program to deliver care to a stroke patient, considering all the needs that a stroke survivor and his support system require. An overview of programmatic features including evidence-based care and patient/family education along with outcome measures will be discussed and elaborated on to provide the participant with tools to implement in his individual stroke program.
