Description

Normal healthy child mental health means they meet their developmental emotional milestones, learn healthy social skills and are able to cope with adverse life stress with resilience. Childhood disorders are concerning since children learn by playing, speaking, acting and behaving with others in the same normalcy as expected peers in the use of healthy coping mental health mechanisms. There is significant importance for children to receive early assessment so that proper treatment can be arranged early to reduce risk of comorbid mental disorders. Children who do not have access to mental health clinicians or receive an interview in a timely fashion may potentially encompass risk for self-harm, substance use disorders or even suicide according to research. The CDC has a new program titled “Learn the signs, act early.” This initiative has been implemented since the Covid pandemic in 2020. This initiative is in Florida, Texas, and California as well as 41 other states. https://www.cdc.go
