Description

This course covers imaging commonly used for evaluation and treatment of various pathologies, such as conventional radiographs (x-ray), ultrasound (US) images, computerized tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). It covers the clinical application of imaging tests for commonly occurring skeletal and soft tissue trauma of the spine, pelvis and extremities, as well as providing foundational knowledge of cardiopulmonary imaging and neuroimaging. Special emphasis is placed on the interprofessional terminology essential for communicating with other healthcare professionals when discussing imaging, indications, and contraindications, as well as how this assessment contributes to patient care.
