Description

This course provides the learner with clinical knowledge and skills in interventionand reassessment of outcomes for diverse patient/client populations with neuromuscular conditions emphasizing deficits of the cerebral cortex, basal ganglia, cerebellum, and demyelination of the central and peripheral nervous systems in a variety of practice settings. The neuropathology, development of interventions, and reexamination for each impairment and functional task is emphasized. The Physical Therapist Practice: Management Process from the Guide to Physical Therapy Practice and the International Classification of Function, Disability, and Health (ICF) Framework is utilized as a basis for examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, management—including specific interventionsand outcome assessment. Students synthesize the concepts of clinical reasoning and clinical decision-making while incorporating evidence-based practice principles. Learners refinetheir ability to screen for conditions th
