Description

This course will provide the learner with diagnoses specific clinical knowledge and skills in examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, intervention, and assessment of outcomes for individuals with emphasis on deficits of the spinal cord, vestibular system and cortical deficits related to post concussion in a variety of practice settings. The neuropathology, development of diagnosis specific examination and interventions for each diagnosis will be emphasized. The Physical Therapist Practice: Management Process from the Guide to Physical Therapy Practice and the International Classification of Function, Disability, and Health (ICF) Framework will be utilized as a basis for examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, management – including specific interventions, and outcome assessment. Students will synthesize the concepts of clinical reasoning and clinical decision-making while incorporating evidence-based practice principles. The learner will refine their ability to screen for
