Description
This course will provide the learner with advanced clinical knowledge and skills in examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, intervention, and assessment of outcomes for diverse patient/client populations with neuromuscular conditions, including neurological conditions across the lifespan, including, but not limited to cerebral palsy and spina bifida, and rare neurologic health conditions in a variety of practice settings. The neuropathology, development of examination and interventions for each neurologic condition will be emphasized. A comprehensive integration of all prior coursework in the neuromuscular series will also be reinforced. There will be further integration and assessment of all prior conditions presented in the neuromuscular course series. The Physical Therapist Practice: Management Process from the Guide to Physical Therapy Practice and the International Classification of Function, Disability, and Health (ICF) Framework will be utilized as a basis for examination
