Description

This course provides the learner with clinical knowledge and skills in examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, intervention, and assessment of outcomes for diverse patient/client populations with musculoskeletal conditions (both surgical and nonsurgical) of the lower half of the body in a variety of practice settings. The Patient Client Management Model from the Guide to Physical Therapy Practice and the International Classification of Function, Disability, and Health (ICF) Framework are utilized as a basis for examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, management, and outcome assessment. This course further promotes development of knowledge in differentiating musculoskeletal conditions in the lumbar spine, pelvis, hip, knee, foot, and ankle. Students synthesize the concepts of clinical reasoning and clinical decision-making while incorporating evidence-based practice principles.
