Description

Anatomy and biomechanics of the cranio-facial, cervical and upper thoracic spine areas are discussed. Several techniques from S1 are reviewed along with modifications and instructions of additional techniques are provided. An in-depth presentation on the syndromes of the cervical spine, sub-cranial and thoracic outlet is included. The student has the opportunity to explore the classification of headaches and current treatment approaches. The utilization of biomechanical and anatomical principles for the enhancement of patient care through manipulation and exercise is emphasized, as is the patient?s role in his/her own welfare. Prerequisites are completion of PHT 5135C, Musculoskeletal IV and the CPE Seminar ?Advanced Evaluation and Manipulation of the Cranio-Facial, Cervical and Upper Thoracic Spine (S3)? offered by the University.
