The Board of Directors has concluded its comprehensive, national search for the new university president. We greatly appreciate the extensive input received from academic leadership, faculty, and staff that effectively represented our array of programs and diverse campus locations.
We are extremely pleased to announce that Dr. Divina Grossman has been named president of the university, effective March 1. Dr. Grossman, who most recently served as chancellor of the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, brings a unique blend of strong academic credentials, deep community engagement, and powerful vision that will guide our institution to its goal of being the leading comprehensive health sciences university in the United States. In addition, Dr. Grossman will uphold our fundamental institutional values due to her unwavering belief in the power of higher education to prepare leaders of the future and to transform students and communities through educational excellence and innovation.

We are extremely grateful to retiring president Dr. Wanda Nitsch for her leadership and service to our university over the past 20 years. We will have many opportunities over the next month to demonstrate our profound appreciation to Dr. Nitsch for her contributions to creating this extraordinary higher education institution.
