Evidence Based Physical Therapy Practice

Session Description: The presentation will present five steps to implementing evidence based practice, explore resources for accessing the literature, and investigate the components of critical thinking for literature review and application of evidence to physical therapy practice.

Introduction to Activity-based Therapy & Locomotor Training
Faculty: Elizabeth Ardolino
Course Description: This presentation will introduce how activity-based therapies, specifically locomotor training, use task-specific training to activate the nervous system for improved motor activity after neurologic disorder. The differences between compensation and recovery-based rehabilitation techniques will be discussed, as well as the basic science behind the use of locomotor training in the neurologic population.
