Description
This seminar is designed to assist the health care professional in developing a better understanding of memory/cognitive impairments associated with the aging process. These clients present a challenge to health care professionals who are often at a loss as to how to provide ?appropriate? evidence based intervention. Intervention and client management frequently involves not only dealing with the client but also with their family who is struggling to understand the memory/cognitive/behavioral changes they are seeing in their loved one. You will learn about normal versus abnormal memory/cognitive deficits as humans age, and the factors that both contribute to and slow memory/cognitive decline.
Emphasis will be on intervention/management related to these factors. Content will cover the spectrum of age related memory/cognitive changes from Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) to end stage Alzheimer?s and the behavioral/clinical characteristics of each. Emphasis will be on MCI through modera
