Equine-assisted therapy is an emerging treatment modality for children and adults with physical, cognitive and emotionalhandicaps. Recent research supports the theory that equine-assisted therapy can decrease the symptomology of the disability,thus increasing quality of life. The team approach assists the student to achieve their highest potential while maintaining a safetherapeutic environment. This seminar explores the roles of various team members in equine-assisted therapy, the disabilitiesserved and their unique challenges.
