Here at ACG Therapy Center evidence based practice is used to determine every aspect of client treatment. Sensory integration therapy (SI), Neuro-developmental treatment (NDT),  Deep Pressure Proprioceptive Touch (DPPT) and perceptual motor training are just a few of the approaches used to steadily progress our pediatric clients toward their goals. In addition, my fieldwork supervisor has been working in pediatrics for over five years and is very keen on utilizing appropriate techniques as per client's diagnosis. As a student intern at ACG therapy center I was required to present the staff with an article which supported our use of sensory integration therapy.  Though a lot of research has not been conducted on SI it has been proven to be an effective method for treating sensory dysfunction.

Hi Charline: Thanks for the post. You forgot to include the reference for an article you found that supports what you do. I need this ASAP :) You can e-mail it to me and I'll insert it for you.
the caution I would give is to make sure that you (and others that are looking for evidence) are truly finding experimental designs, systematic reviews, or meta-analyses to read/review. These are the only types of articles that provide evidence.
Here is Charlene's article:
Humphries, T., Wright, M., McDougall, B., Vertes, J. (1990). The efficacy of sensory integration therapy for children with learning disabilities. Journal of Physical and Occupational Therapy in Pediatrics, 10 (3), p.1-17.
