Discuss how evidence based practice is used to support client interventions in this setting.  In APA format, list one article you used to support evidence based practice.
 
Evidenced based practice is routinely used in the outpatient\hands setting.  In most cases treatment based protocols for the hand, elbow, and wrist have documentation supporting the results of how to treat the specific injury. When there a patient presents with a diagnosis that is not familiar to me, I will research what it is and the evidence behind the treatment protocols.  Each treatment should have evidence behind it's effectiveness and modified if needed to each patient.

Hi Jared - thanks for the post. I'm glad that EBP is routinely used in hands (a setting where it is mandatory!) I think the only caution I would give is that many treatment protocols are based on standard practice, not necessarily on the research, so I'm glad to see that you looked for that :). Your article really does not address direct evidence. Based on the title, it's a description of what to do, it is not an experimental design. Always look for experimental designs and/or systematic reviews or meta-analyses.
