There are very few limitations regarding the incorporation of occupation based activities intro treatment at this facility. One of the reasons for this is that this is a pediatric outpatient clinic, and therefore the majority of occupation based activities involve "playing" due to the age of this specific population.

In addition, this facility is unique in that it combines sensory integration and the D.I.R. model of treatment. Both of these models are heavily client centered, focused on adapting the environment and treatment for each individual's specific needs. The only limitation that I have identified is combining the goals and needs of the client ( i.e. the child) and the parents. Since the D.I.R. model is used at this facility the parents are an integral aspect of the child's tx sessions and thus short and long term goals.

Considering an eight hour day, what percentage of your interventions would you describe as:

Occupation-based activities i.e., play, shopping, ADL, IADL, work, school activities, etc. (within client’s own context with his or her goals) __90_____%

Purposeful activities (therapeutic context leading to occupation) __5______%

Preparatory methods i.e., sensory, PAMs, splinting, exercise, etc. (preparation for occupation-based activity) __5______%
