Please share/ discuss something you learned from this fieldwork experience you feel will impact your practice as occupational therapist in the future.

 

        There are many things I have learned from this fieldwork experience regarding the practice of occupational therapy. I have learned what it takes to be a team player by collaborating with my fellow colleagues, documentation regarding insurance reimbursement, implementing past experiences into my evaluation/treatment plan in times when you are not given a patient's past medical history, and learning all of the things I can offer my patients as a therapist in order to get back to basic activities of daily living. By learning all of these factors that impact our practice, I am better prepared to take on my role as an occupational therapist and give my patient's the best quality of care for reaching their prior level of function.
