Please share/ discuss something you learned from this fieldwork experience you feel will impact your practice as occupational therapist in the future.

Well, this forum is called "collaboration," so it is a bit ironic collaboration is the quality that will most impact my future practice. It has been a pleasure to be part of a rehabilitation team that collaborates with one another on nearly every case. Also, the physical therapists advocate for the occupational therapists to be brought onto cases where the patient would benefit from collaboration. Being able to support one another is essential to this field and I will always keep that in mind in the years to come.

Christie,

What great insight, collaboration is so important to our profession and the end results of our treatments and interactions with clients and other professionals.  This concept seems to come easy for OTs and almost a natural component of our make up and profession.  Keep working on this skill as it will serve you well as you enter practice.
