Course withdrawal date is 3 weeks before the last assignment is due for online courses and last scheduled day of the course not to include final exams. This date should be on the course syllabus. By withdrawing from the course from day 8 of the trimester through the course withdrawal deadline, a "W" will be issued. 

Withdrawing from a course after the 3 week deadline discussed above, to include Leave of Absence or Program Withdrawal, the grade at the time of the withdrawal will be issued. Also calculated into the grade given will be any outstanding course requirements through the end of the course. This may result in a failing grade.

A course is able to be dropped during the first 7 days of the trimester.  Post Professional students are able to drop a course on the Program registration link provided on this Registrar page.  First professional students are able to drop a course by submitting a course withdrawal form to registrar@usa.edu after the course instructor and advisor have approved the request.
