Early request is key!

  • You will need time to review the exam's requirements for application.
  • You will need time to gather documentation (possibly get re-evaluated or updated documentation) if necessary.
  • Agencies take time to review accommodations applications, on top of regular exam application review. Please note that if you are declined, you will need additional time to re-apply which could delay your exam date.

How to submit a robust application the first time:

  • Sufficient documentation (PLEASE review your exam's requirements for documentation)
  • Answering application questions completely and with relevant ADA language (barriers throughout education)
  • Including a personal statement when appropriate.
  • Deadlines and early submissions are key. Do not wait until the end of your program.

Pulling It Together: Tips

  • Submit recent, detailed documentation.
  • Provide evidence of a lifelong impairment (not just during your experience at USAHS when possible).
  • Begin the process early—leave time for appeals if necessary.
  • When describing functional limitations: Use ADA-specific language, Keep it to testing-specific areas.

PLEASE be sure to read the requirements for your specific exam's website (see below) each exam has their own set of requirements for the documentation they will accept!

Please reach out to accommodations@usa.edu if you would like someone to review your application or supply your Instructor Notification as documentation.
