As president, Margie aims to create opportunities for herself and fellow colleagues to enhance their confidence, skills, and knowledge within the sports physical therapy realm while building connections with practicing clinicians. She graduated from Stetson University in 2015, where she was a Division 1 Athlete on the rowing team and worked multiple positions in the athletic department throughout her 4 years there. After graduation, she worked as a personal trainer and rowing coach for 6 years before she began PT school. Margie is passionate about working with endurance athletes to improve their performance and quality of life, and plans to continue primarily working with this demographic as a future clinician. She plans to combine pelvic health and sports to create a niche within physical therapy and one day open her own clinic/facility. In her free time, Margie loves being near the water with her dog and friends, and competing in endurance sports.

 

Vice President — Nico Martini, SPT

As vice president, Nico aims to create opportunities for himself and fellow colleagues to enhance their confidence, skills, and knowledge within the sports physical therapy realm while building connections with practicing clinicians. He graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2021, where he graduated with a bachelors in clinical exercise science, was a NCWA athlete on the wrestling team, was a resident’s assistant, and held other club leadership positions over his 4 years there. Nico is passionate about working with athletes to return to sport through improving their strength, performance, and mental hurdles it takes to get back to their sport. He plans to continue primarily working with this demographic as a future clinician. In his free time, Nico enjoys watching different sporting event, spending time with friends, and being in the gym.

 

Education Coordinator — CJ Lund, SPT

As Education Coordinator, CJ aims to create opportunities for himself and fellow colleagues to enhance their confidence, skills, and knowledge within the sports physical therapy realm while building connections with practicing clinicians and professionals alike. He grew up in Denver, CO but attended and graduated from the University of Kansas in 2020. After graduation, he worked as a personal trainer and a physical therapist tech for 2 years before he started his journey to PT school. CJ is passionate about working with overhead throwing athletes, specifically those returning from Tommy John Surgery. In his free time, CJ loves to camp, hike, and spend time outside with his friends.

Community Outreach Coordinator – Anton Asknder, SPT

As Community Outreach Coordinator, Anton aims to provide opportunity for himself and his fellow colleagues to participate in events to give back to the local community while building skills and knowledge within physical therapy. He grew up in Columbia, Maryland and attended the University of Maryland, College Park. Anton graduated with a bachelors degree in kinesiology, and went on to play professional soccer in Sweden. He is passionate about soccer both as an athlete and a future clinician. He plans to work with soccer athletes to enhance their sports performance and injury prevention.
