Leadership:

Alexis Zurheide, President

As someone who loves both sports and the medical field, Alexis chose to combine the two by entering the field of sports medicine. She has gained a robust appreciation for athletes recovering from injury since. Alexis completed her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training with a minor in Biomedical Sciences from Missouri State University. Following her tenure at MSU, she began the Residential DPT program at USAHS in Miami and is slated to graduate in April of 2024. Alexis' sports medicine experience comes from working with the MSU Football and Volleyball teams and in an outpatient sports medicine clinic. She is excited to keep the momentum going and bring in sports medicine and orthopedics experts to offer a great experience for all members.

Daniel Reyes, Vice President

My name is Daniel Reyes, I am currently a 3rd Term Residential DPT student. I graduated with my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Athletic Training from Nova Southeastern University in 2013. While an undergrad AT student, I had the privilege to work with the Miami Dolphins for the 2011 and 2012 Training Camps. After graduating in 2013 and becoming a Certified Athletic Trainer, I became the Seasonal Staff Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Miami Dolphins and worked with the team from 2013-2015. After my time with the Miami Dolphins, I joined the Miami Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute at Baptist Hospital as a Clinical Athletic Trainer. During my time in the clinical setting, I worked alongside the team doctors for the Miami Dolphins and Florida Panthers, and the Chief of Trauma Orthopedic Surgery at West Kendall Baptist Hospital. In 2016, I attended the University of Florida as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer working with the Football and Men’s Golf programs. In 2018, I earned my Master’s degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology. I stayed on staff for the 2018-2019 Football season with the Gators before becoming an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the University of Utah Football Program from 2019 through 2021. I hold several certifications including Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) and Graston Technique. I have been blessed to travel to many different cities and sporting venues due to my prior experiences. These past experiences have granted me the privilege to work and treat professional, collegiate, and amateur athletes throughout a wide range of sports-related injuries. Aside from sports and school my hobbies include traveling, playing music, attending concerts, cooking, and spending time with my wife and family.

Raja Siddiqui, Fundraising Chair

I obtained my Bachelor of Science in exercise since from the University of Florida in 2019. After graduating, I worked in an outpatient orthopedic clinic as a rehabilitation aide for two years. In this role, I helped guide and facilitate patients through their phases of physical therapy. Here, my love of physical therapy and fitness grew exponentially. I hope to promote both throughout my career as a clinician. I am currently a residential Doctor of Physical Therapy student at the University of St. Augustine Miami campus. I am hoping to take the SIG Miami chapter to new heights with my peers.
