In observance of Memorial Day, please note the following University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS) holiday schedule:

  • Saturday, May 24–Sunday, May 25—Campus facilities, including the library, are open 8 a.m.–4 p.m. local time. 
  • Monday, May 26 (University holiday)—All USAHS campus facilities, offices and operations will be closed, and classes will not meet.
  • Tuesday, May 27—Normal operations and campus hours resume (7 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time).

All clinical/ fieldwork/ practicum students are expected to follow the holiday schedule of their clinic. Please reference the program-specific, clinical/ fieldwork/ practicum student handbook available on MyUSA>Clinical Service>Student Resources and Forms for the attendance policy.

 

Please reference the Academic Calendar for additional holidays or closures. The next University holiday is Thursday, June 19 (Juneteenth).

About Memorial Day: This day on which those who died in active military service are remembered is traditionally observed May 30 but now officially is observed the last Monday in May. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971.
