INTERVENTIONS
1. Please discuss how you incorporate occupation-based interventions in this setting.
- In a neuro outpatient setting, occupation-based interventions are incorporated when practicing with the patient allowing them to do the skills that they need to do. It could be practicing shower/tub transfers, educating families, teaching hemi-dressing techniques.
2. Describe two issues that limit your ability to use occupation-based interventions and discuss strategies that could be used to minimize these barriers.
- Cognitive level of the patient--> grading the activity up or down to meet the needs of the patient
- Physical level of the patient--> teaching the patient alternate ways to complete a task that is within their skill level
