In the neurological rehabilitation setting I am currently working in there are mostly clients with traumatic brain injury (TBI). We use evidence based practice by the participation of TBI clients in goal-specific occupational therapy, using the COPM and Interest Checklist to achieve self-identified goals. This has been proven by evidence based research to have a dramatic effect in reducing the disability of adults with mild to moderate TBI, with large gains in client's scoring (versus scoring with no treatment), and with over 80% of goals being achieved.
