Of the assessment tools utilized at this setting, name and describe one that you were not familiar with prior to this fieldwork? If there are none, please describe a challenging evaluation session you had with a client.

Using the Independent Living Scales (ILS) for the first time was a challenge because scoring is somewhat subjective at times. The manual does not give every possible answer that a client can give, so we had to use our best judgment to determine how to score many of the answers. Overall, I felt that the ILS was pretty accurate and a helpful indicator of the client's level of independence.
