Discuss how evidence based practice is used to support client interventions in this setting.  In APA format, list one article you used to support evidence based practice.

In this pediatric setting, evidence based practice is used to support interventions that improve handwriting.  This is accomplished by emphasizing motor learning through tracing and learning letter groups that share the same movement patterns.  The article listed below supports the techniques we use in the clinic.

Handwriting is one of those skills that some therapists address in the schools, while others choose not to address, but work on the foundation skills.  There is a great deal of research out there on both sides of the fence as to the success of interventions.  Even the companies that produce handwriting programs have oodles of their own research to support their programs.  DO your homework and be ready to defend you interventions.
