Where does occupational therapy fit in the organizational chart for your facility?

At Brooks Outpatient in Mandarin, OT is one of the 3 therapy disciplines offered, along with PT and speech therapy.  This facility sees both pediatrics and adults on an outpatient basis.  There is one pediatric OT, one PT and one COTA, and two pediatric speech therapists. The OT and COTA do both sometimes see adult patients when their schedules permit.

1. To plan a treatment session for a patient to work towards specific long term goals.

2. To perform an OT evaluation on three patients during fieldwork at facility with minimal assistance from supervisor.

3. To document daily notes, evaluations, discharges, and other documentation that I perform with no assistance from my supervisor.

 I have already started working towards performing evaluations. Today I performed a pediatric evaluation while my supervisor walked me through the evaluation process.
