Unit 10 Original post: Wed 11/19/2014 at 11:19 PM

The therapist at Children's Hospital have redirected their focus to evidence based practice.  The hospital stresses that the practitioners of the hospital have evidence that the intervention has validity and the reason they believe their intervention will be beneficial for the child.  We have had several parents ask about developmental skills, reflexes, and what is expected of their child with a certain diagnoses.  We have seen children for rehabilitation with very interesting diagnoses.  One of them being transverse myelitis.  My supervisor is young and has had little experience with spinal cord injuries or diagnoses such as transverse myelitis.  There is very little research for modern interventions to support new ideas.  One study I did find was about therapy as a whole for transverse myelitis and a great reminder of what areas we needed to focus our intervention on.

Shannon:

Great resource.   Sounds like you are linking evidence to practice in a good way with success.

Have a safe holiday and looking forward to seeing you soon.
