Week 10 Original post: Thu 11/20/2014 at 2:26 PM

1. My FWS attends CE classes at least once every two months in order to stay up to date on treatment approaches. The most recent weekend class she attended was for Interactive Listening. She also has me read articles and books to help with my treatment approaches and how to explain these ideas to parents, especially when implementing a sensory diet HEP. My FWS had me read A. Jean Ayres' "Sensory Integration and the Child: Understanding HIdden Sensory Challenges" at the beginning of FW, which has really helped me relay information to parents in everyday terms. As far as current research, I have been looking up EBP to support CIMT for a very young client who has a congenital diagnosis, schizencephaly. I have presented this evidence to his mom in order to encourage compliance with wearing his constraint orthotic at home.

Andrea:

Great resource.  Sounds like you are linking evidence to practice in a good way with success.

Have a safe holiday and looking forward to seeing you soon.
