1. Discuss how evidence based practice is used to support client interventions in this setting. 

  • In my neuro setting, we treat primarily CVA patients, many of which suffer from some form of hemiparesis that is inhibiting overall function. We often utilize a mirror in therapy to help elicit movement in the affected arm. The mirror is placed between the 2 extremities and individual watches the non-affected arm move and the brain is tricked into thinking that the affected arm is eliciting the movement. It has been shown to help clients initiate movement in the affected extremity.
